The Senior Portraits Experience

There are only a few weeks of summer left and my brain is shifting to school mode. This means there are mothers out there silently weeping. Crying on the phones over wine saying their babies are all grown. Additionally, there are seniors out there already starting their countdown to the end of their high school career! Here is your reminder for taking care of the first step, book your senior portraits today! Senior year can be stressful but it’s going to be the best year of your life. There are tons of planning for the future, enjoying your friends, and your last little bit of FREEDOM before you begin adulting. Adulting can wait because this is YOUR year! Look around your house, does your family have your school pictures all over like mine did? This is the last year of “school pictures” and this image is going to be on in that frame until you get married or grandbabies replace you. Giving you the perfect picture to hang on the wall is only half of what I do. It’s not just senior pictures, its the senior portrait experience! Click here to view my senior portfolio The Senior Nightmare…. So back in the summer of 2006, I was putting gel in my hair, laying on the eyeliner, and jump into my Honda Accord with the loud muffler and drive down to my high school. I didn’t get to pick out an outfit I liked. Just had to wear something with spaghetti straps. We had two days to get there and take our “senior pictures”. I walked into a classroom that was had two backdrops set up and two photographers. They put on this blouse that velcroed on the back, sat me in the chair, snapped two pictures, and sent me to a second room. The second room I put on the same velcro blouse and we did “posed” pictures. The lady had me hold a face rose, smirk (which she quickly said maybe not), and look in different directions. It never felt special or anything like me. Forty minutes I was in and out and felt like it was just another picture day. I didn’t get to show any of my quirky personality, didn’t get to take pictures with my softball gear, and my pictures looked the same as everyone in my class. My parents paid $400 for the photo package for generic pictures. YUCK! If I could do it all over, I would! Why Lasting Memories Senior Portraits? When booking your session with me, you are not going to have any of that generic feeling! Your images are going to be a reflection of YOUR personality. Outfits you want, various locations that actually mean something to you, and items that you want to show off. I promise to make you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera! It is my goal to show off your natural personality and beauty. Our session together will begin with a questionnaire for the senior to complete. This gives me an opportunity to learn more about you and how where we can start designing our session. We will then be talking about locations, styles, outfits, props, and color schemes. I always recommend seniors head over to Pinterest and send me a few pins they LOVE! This helps me see your personality and gets us on the same page of the feeling you have. Want to see our senior Pinterest board? On the day of the shoot, we will have a game plan on locations and outfits. We will spend 2 hours together at 2-3 locations that you selected. Pack your car with all the different outfits! You are able to have 3-4 outfit changes. This gives us enough time to shoot the location without being rushed and gives us plenty of different looks. Make sure that you pack the props that you want to use too! You are able to bring your family if you wish or keep it private between you and me. Senior Portraits Investment My goal is that when our senior portraits are over you are going to be so comfortable that the time just flies by! I want the next process of this to be just easy and comfortable for your families as well! All of my senior packages include access to an online digital gallery. This makes sharing on Instagram easy for you and downloading and printing easy for your families. You will receive ALL the best high-resolution digital images. No secrets, no required minimums, and no hidden fees! The Lasting Memories Senior Portraits Experience is $500! In addition to the base package, there are addons for families that are interested! These addons include professional hair and makeup services, unique and personalized collages, graduation announcements, party invitations, timeline photos, and professional quality prints for you to share and enjoy with your family.
