When to Book Your Newborn Session
For the best newborn photography, I recommend scheduling your session between 5 and 12 days of age. During this time, babies are typically sleepier and easier to pose, which allows me to capture those beautiful, squishy, and peaceful moments. After the first few weeks, babies experience a growth spurt, which may make them more alert or harder to settle. While I know babies have their own schedules, we’ll tentatively schedule around your due date. Once your baby arrives, just let me know, and we’ll lock in the perfect time for your session. My favorite messages are from moms who tell me they’re in labor!
How to Book Your Newborn Session
Once you have your due date, it’s time to start planning! Our session begins with a consultation, which can be done online, over the phone, or over a warm beverage if you prefer. During our consultation, we’ll discuss your vision for your newborn session—including where you plan to display the images, preferred styles, color schemes, and any special props, outfits, or toys you want to incorporate. I’ll help guide you through the selection of the right newborn photography packages that best fit your family’s needs. My flexible options allow you to make final decisions about prints and collections after viewing your gallery. Payment plans are available for both session fees and print packages, ensuring that we can work within your budget.
What Happens After You Book
Once your newborn session date is confirmed and your baby has arrived, we’ll stay in communication to finalize the best time for your session. If you’re having an induction, we’ll choose a date that fits your family’s schedule. To help ease the process, I’ll send you a guide with helpful tips on preparing for your session. This will include what to pack and what to expect during the shoot.
On the Day of Your Newborn Session
When the big day arrives, relax and enjoy the experience while I take care of everything. Your baby is in safe, experienced hands. Based on our consultation, I’ll have everything prepared to create beautiful, timeless photos. Parents often express relief at how I am able to soothe their babies and take the pressure off, letting me capture the natural beauty and sweetness of their newborn. We will follow your baby’s schedule, ensuring that feedings, outfit changes, and sibling/family photos are seamlessly incorporated into the session.
After Your Newborn Session
Once your newborn photography session is complete, your final images will be available through an online gallery that you can view from the comfort of your own home. From there, you can select your favorite photos as digital images, order high-quality prints, or choose custom wall art for your home.
